Door Measure is an iPhone app for measuring door openings on site and sharing the results with your team. This page explains what it stores and why.
Door Measure is run by Thomas Sanders, who is responsible for your data (the data controller). You can contact him at doormeasure.app@gmail.com.
What we keep
- Your account: your name and email address, from Sign in with Apple or the email you sign in with. If you use Apple's Hide My Email, we only see the private relay address.
- Your company: its name, contact details, logo, brand colour and the people in your team.
- Door surveys: measurements, the 3D drawing data, answers you enter, photos you take in the app, site contact names and numbers you add, and the notes you write.
- Location: where a door was measured, so the survey and site map show where it is. Location is only read while you are using the app.
What we don't do
No adverts, no tracking across other apps or websites, and no selling of data. Your doors are only visible to people in your company, and to anyone you send a door or site link to.
Where it's kept
Surveys and photos are stored with Cloudflare in data centres they run. Doors are kept on your phone until they upload. Door surveys are kept for 7 days on the free plan, 90 days on Starter and 12 months on Pro and Unlimited, then deleted.
Services we use
- Apple, for Sign in with Apple and app distribution.
- Cloudflare, for hosting and storage.
- what3words, which receives a door's position to turn it into a three word address.
- Google Maps or OpenStreetMap, to draw site maps on the website.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account in the app under the person icon, then Delete my account. If you are the only person in your company, the company and its doors are deleted too. You can also email doormeasure.app@gmail.com and we'll do it for you.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, and object to how we use it. Email us and we'll reply within one month. We use your data to provide the service you signed up for, and keep it only as long as described above.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
